well…. the 3D was incredible. But damn that narrative. What the what? I suppose Cameron had to go simple-narrative for such a technological movie-making challenge. But still, the narrative was So. Predictable. wah.
And damn, I would have taken even 2-dimensional characters over these 1-D characters. The good guys are good, the bad guys bad. Nothing in between. And the bad villain was not threatening / scary / intimidating at all. I mean look at the youtube still! That dude is the baddie? are you kidding me? This from the guy that gave us the Terminator? Please.
And he seemed to pilfer some visual ideas from Miyazaki. It’s too bad Jammy Jim couldn’t be influenced by any narrative challenges set by the great animator.
And seriously, what’s with the blue-cat-smurf chick’s flashes of titties throughout the flim? what the hell is that? am i supposed to want to fuck her? that’s weird bro.
but it was cool to see a couple mates’ names in the end credits :)
