Another excellent Almodovar film. Does he have a bad movie to his name? Themes of sex and the colour red are prevalent as always. A friend told me today that “he sure does love his sexy women for a gay guy.” Indeed. Though this film not as erotic or explicit as I thought from the cover. It’s closer to the feeling of films like DOUBLE INDEMNITY. In fact, all his films [that I’ve seen] have a kind of whimsy in them. Like a soap opera, but with amazing cinematography and a really tight script.
Watching films in 2010 off to a good start then - I watched these four films in 2 days, Jan 1 and 2, 2010.
