TREELESS MOUNTAIN - So Yong Kim - 2008 - Film Fest #05

Sad, sad, very sad story of two somewhat unwanted, somewhat neglected South Korean girls flitting between houses of whoever will take them after their mother leaves to find their father.  Sad, sad, sad.   Uplifting final 10 minutes almost made me feel less sad.

Interesting point:  this film is distributed by Beastie Boy Adam Yauch’s Oscilloscope Laboratories.  I had heard he snapped up a bunch of films at Sundance this year.  I wonder if this was one.
