Currently, I think editing on a micro-level has never been better, and editing on a macro-level has never been worse. I leave it to you to decide why this is.

18 July 09 - MOON - Duncan Jones - 2009 - Film Festival #03

I should’ve liked this more.  Really.  The trailer is so awesome.  The look, the mood, the score — everything is lined up and ready for me to like it.   But.  I don’t know.  Perhaps because I watched this the same day as Jeanne Dielman, it lessened my appreciation.  Everything just felt like I’ve seen it before.  For this type of sci-fi, I much preferred SOLARIS (both Tarkovsky’s and Soderbergh’s versions).  I don’t know.  I’ll watch it again someday and probably like it more then.
